Grounds and Gardens
A majestic, century-old Tilleul tree is the focal point at the entry to the property. The gardens are abloom with flowers: Purple & white lavender, a rose garden, rock roses climbing roses, boxwood hedges, geraniums, salvia, agapantha, iris, etc. Many mature trees surround the property: Walnut, plum, apple, wild cherry, chestnut, pine, liquid amber and oak. Some years our tenant farmer plants sunflowers in the fields and other years it is corn or wheat. But whatever the crop is, the fields always look beautiful and abundant! A salt-water pool sits on the hillside with a panoramic view of the countryside.
Outside Dining There are 4 areas where you can dine al fresco: The main Dining Terrace outside the dining room is situated to maximize one’s enjoyment of the stunning view; or dine in the coeur de jardin (courtyard) surrounded by lavender and roses; or on the patio of the Guest House; or by the pool under the beautiful Liquid Amber tree. And of course, anywhere on the grounds where you’d love to have a picnic.
No noise, no neighbors and no traffic only an occasional small plane going over or possibly a helicopter with friends coming to visit.
