- La Brandette is a treasure in the countryside of the Dordogne, with all the comforts of home, including a great kitchen, pool, wifi and a 2 bedroom guest house. The property is sitting on top of a beautiful hill with great views. Perfect for exploring the area. We try to visit event other year. A great treat.
- We have returned year after year to inhale the serenity and breathtaking views from La Brandette. Visiting from Los Angeles, it’s extra special for us to enjoy the simple elegance of French country living. Many of our days began with a brisk morning walk to see the last drops of dew, from French country lanes, hardly a car in site, then a sumptuous lunch outdoors on the country table including the best of Veronica’s garden grown vegetables and wine, followed by a book and lazy afternoon swim. Exhausted from all that, the important nap is next, in a silence unknown to us back home, and then maybe an exciting game of boule on the court and a Cuban cigar. We’ve never seen stars as bright or evenings as romantic as we have found at La Brandette. All the year through, we look forward to our next visit. Thank you!
- La Brandette is a bit of heaven, a place of repose, and a place to reenergize my soul. When I awoke the first morning in the comfortable bed, with beautiful smelling roses from the garden, the aroma of fresh air only confirmed the delight my senses perceived.
- My sister and I brought our families to La Brandette for 2 weeks. What we hoped would be a memorable experience turned out to be an incredible experience!.!….So much room for our 2 big families……between the sunshine flooded, open plan Main house with magnificent, huge doors & windows ….. 2 bedroom Guest House and separate Guest Suite everyone was able to have their own space…..at the same time, able to enjoy all the pleasures of a memorable family vacation together on this magnificent French countryside estate! The children loved the pool, ping-pong and boule court for playing the traditional French game of boule. Many afternoons were spent in the bois (forest) with the children roaming around experiencing nature at its most beautiful…with bird watching, scurrying after rabbits, watching deer and other wonders of nature – so many different trees with beautiful sun-light shining through them. Ending the days with dinner on the terrace with the great local wines!!!!!! A dream of a vacation for all!
- I had hit bottom during my protracted divorce and yearned for a getaway where I could find peace and put painful feelings to rest. With nature serving as a backdrop, La Brandette allowed me to hit my “reset” button and begin the healing process. The property sits high on a hill and overlooks miles of green rolling hills, acres of golden sunflowers, and a single winding road that dips, rises, and curves for as far as the eye can see. As I sat perched on the front wall overlooking the valley the only sound I heard was the wind as it rustled through the trees. I was finally at peace.
- Ah! La Brandette– Beautiful, tranquil, magnificent– what can I say, our stay was truly Heaven on Earth. From the gorgeous views, all the way to the exquisite linens, everything was perfect. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Cannot wait to return.
- I was lucky enough to stay for several days at La Brandette last year. I have traveled all through France and must say that the Dordogne is my favorite region. But the most special place of all is La Brandette. It was truly magical!! The endless, rolling hills are right out of an Impressionist painting. The renovated farmhouse is exquisite, elegant but casual. The hosts are so thoughtful, anticipating all one’s needs, from lovely soaps to sunhats. One awakes to an incredible view of the countryside. The surrounding region is such a fascinating place to explore. It was the most lovely experience and one of my most treasured spots on earth! In my dreams this is where I would spend forever!
- Our first time in the Dordogne proved to be a spectacular culinary experience. My husband and I are great cooks….and the Main House has a totally renovated modern open kitchen. The perfect place for us to cook & entertain. We didn’t miss a Marché (open air local farmers markets). Whatever we bought that day became our dinner, including of course the famous French foie gras!
- Coming from Ireland we wanted a very different experience for our family. The weather was spectacular……with the children spending most of their day in the pool! We needed some serenity – coming from a busting town…and we found it! A very magnificent view that we all enjoyed from morning until Midnight with the full moon beautifully reflecting in the pool. The local food & wine added to our wonderful experience. We recommend it highly!.
